Sometimes when I'm a victim of a crime I want to keep quiet and let it go unreported.

It's not out of shame for haviing been a victim  or fear or kindness toward the criminal though.

My reasons are my reasons, but rest assured that it isn't because of shame. It isn't because of fear. It isn't because of kind feelings toward the criminal.

I will know what happened and who  did it, and that's all I need to know, and that may be information that I don't want anyone else to have.
