FREE BREAKFAST FOR NEW TOY FOR MARINE CHILD
San Diego Congressman Darrell Issa and his family sponsored a free pancake breakfast at the Officer's Club at Camp Pendleton on Saturday December 8th. Chowhounds got a free breakfast cooked by the Congressman and his staff in return for a new un-wrapped Christmas toy or a donation to Homefront San Diego.
This is the second year the Congressman has held this breakfast. The Issa Foundation matches every donation dollar for dollar all to benefit low ranked enlisted U.S. Marine families at Camp Pendleton.

ONE NUMBER TO CALL IF YOU ARE A MILITARY FAMILY IN NEED OR YOU WANT TO HELP A MILITARY FAMILY IN NEED:
A National Charity of the Design and Construction Industry created by the Society for Design Administration
Some of the best architects in Southern California will create and build phenomenal structures designed entirely out of canned goods. The competition challenges the architects, engineers and contractors but the event also serves local charities where the event is held in scores of cities around America.
After the competition all food products (which may not be tampered with in anyway to produce creations) are donated. This year the San Diego Chapter of the Society for design Administration has chosen Homefront San Diego to receive some 10-thousand pounds of non-perishable food.

Roger with Patty Dutra and Fay Bell of Military Outreach Ministries at Camp Pendleton, January 2007. HOMEFRONT SAN DIEGO
As our locally based Sailors and Maarines headed off to war they left behind families who also serve. Originally formed as Operation Homefront our goal was and is to be a surrogate member of the Warrior's family to stand by them as cars need repair, budgets get tight and emergencies happen.
Over the six years Homefront San Diego has served many thousand local military families with a Warrior deployed.
We are an ALL VOLUNTEER organization. Nobody gets paid. Every donated penny benefits a military family in need.
Homefront San Diego is partnered with the Navy League of San Diego as our 501c3 partner. All donations are tax deductable.
Donations (we no not agressively seek funds, but we need them and we spend no money on fund raising) can be made by writing a check to:

Colleen, a military wife with a car donated by Roger's listeners and refurbished by Dan Smith of Alpine. Since Roger created his Warrior Family outreach after 911-01 we have provided free (donated and fixed up by our volunteer mechanics) cars to hundreds of San Diego military families. This doesn't count hundreds of cars that we've fixed for military families...mostly for free!! Thanks to a growing roster of San Diego auto dealers, tire shops, transmisison service firms and driveway mechanics.
