A Times-Union/Insider Advantage survey out Wednesday has Mitt Romney with a 40-32 lead on Newt Gingrich, a significant swing in less than two days. No other candidate polled in double-digits.
Riding a wave of momentum after winning South Carolina's Jan. 21 primary by double-digits, Gingrich took a 34-26 lead over Romney into Monday night's Tampa presidential debate, according to Insider Advantage's last Florida survey.
The swing does not come as a shock to Matt Towery, Insider Advantage's founder.
Taxpayers still owed 132.9 billion dollars from bailouts!
A government watchdog says U.S. taxpayers are still owed $132.9 billion that companies haven't repaid from the financial bailout, and some of that will never be recovered.The bailout launched at the height of the financial crisis in September 2008 will continue to exist for years, says a report issued Thursday by Christy Romero, the acting special inspector general for the $700 billion bailout. Some bailout programs, such as the effort to help homeowners avoid foreclosure by reducing mortgage payments, will last as late as 2017, costing the government an additional $51 billion or so. Cal AG not happy with 25bn Mortgage Shakedown Payout
Calif. Atty. Gen. Kamala D. Harris' office has called a proposed $25-billion settlement with the nation's mortgage industry "inadequate."
"We've reviewed the details of the latest settlement proposal from the banks, and we believe it is inadequate for California," Shum Preston, a spokesman for Harris, said in a statement. "Our state has been clear about what any multi state settlement must contain: transparency, relief going to the most distressed homeowners and meaningful enforcement that ensures accountability. At this point, this deal does not suffice for California."

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran is ready for nuclear talks with the world powers amid toughening sanctions aimed at forcing Tehran to sharply scale back its nuclear program.
Ahmadinejad, however, says sanctions won't force Iran to capitulate to Western demands.
The United States and allies want Iran to halt uranium enrichment, which they worry could lead to weapons-grade material. Iran says it only seeks reactors for energy and research.
Former President John Tyler's grand kids are still alive!
John Tyler was born in 1790. He became the 10th president of the United States in 1841 after William Henry Harrison died in office. Tyler fathered Lyon Gardiner Tyler in 1853, at age 63. Then, at the age of 71, Lyon Gardiner Tyler fathered Lyon Gardiner Tyler Jr. in 1924 and four years later at age 75, Harrison Ruffin Tyler. Both men are still alive today.
